Formatting
Up to 8 pages in length (approx. 1000-3000 words)
On the upper lefthand side of the document’s first page, record your name, professor’s name, course name, and date of submission. In the upper righthand corner, add a header which includes your last name and the current page number. Number all pages.
The story must have an original title centered above the opening paragraph.
Double-space the entire document.
Margins should not exceed 1 inch.
Use a standard-sized serif font such as Times or Garamond.
Assignment Requirements
Work will be graded according to how well the writer demonstrates the knowledge they’ve gained in reading assignments, lectures, and discussions. (see attachment “Story Goals” for more info)
Stories that meet or exceed expectations will include:
A coherent, engaging story structured in such a way that the average college-level reader can follow shifts in time, plot, and character with relative ease.
Basic utilization of appropriate, college-level grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
Ideas, events, and details applicable to readers’ own realities, and employing tactile, evocative imagery activating their imaginations and eliciting emotional response.
