I am applying for an FNP program. My personal statement should incorporate that I am a first-generation immigrant daughter to pursue such a degree, coming from a family whose highest education is high school. I have been a RN for two years and wish to gain higher education to provide a better life for my family and myself as I watched both parents struggle to learn English and work multiple jobs. I decided to go into nursing after my uncle passed away from a heart attack at work.
