In the coming decades, will there be more effective international cooperation to fight climate change?

There is, of course, no one right answer; you will be graded on the thoughtfulness of your analysis. You should make a specific prediction in the paper, not advocate a particular policy. In other words, explain what countries will do, not what you think they should do.
Hint: this is an assignment about international cooperation. Your paper must include an explanation of at least one of the factors that can account for why sometimes countries cooperate and sometimes they do not. See the section in the textbook called “When Can Actors Cooperate” that runs from page 57 to 63 in the most recent edition.
Grades will be based on:
Writing. The paper must have a clear thesis, stated early. The rest of the paper should contain facts and logic that support the thesis, and should properly cite sources.
Analysis of cooperation. Under what conditions do countries cooperate with each other effectively?
Analysis of the origins of cooperation. Under what conditions do countries create systems of cooperation?
Sources: Your paper should refer to at least one assigned course reading plus at least three articles from mainstream news sources (New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, BBC, Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera, etc.). The news sources you use must have been published after January 1, 2022. There is no need to research more extensive background material from books, government documents, etc.
Sources must be cited properly, using a consistent citation format (such as MLA, APA, or Chicago).
