Much like new pilots using flight simulators and taking early flights under the watchful eye of a flight instructor, practicums allow talented learners to apply concepts and lessons in a supervised environment. It is difficult to imagine a pilot flying without a flight plan. For specialty nurse learners, a practicum agreement, or Practicum Experience Plan (PEP), serves as that plan. A foundational step of constructing a PEP is the development of a set of learning objectives, which maps your PEP. These objectives will guide the practicum experience toward desired outcomes.
