Your introduction should be typed here. It should be at least four sentences and include a thesis statement. The thesis statement is part of the rubric and worth 5% of the paper. Read and use the ENTIRE rubric, not just the content portions. Please note that you should follow all APA writing rules within your essay. This means avoid first and second person, do not use contractions, and use citations throughout your paper!
Effective Teams (10% of paper per the rubric)
Address all aspects of question one within this paragraph. Use citations and outside sources! Hint – define and cite what an effective team is before you rationalize this answer. The assignment directions say “as stated in the course readings”.  You are to analyze the “team” is effective or not using these three criteria. Use examples from the case study to support your assertions. Sources are required.
Tuckman’s Five Stages (10%)
Address question two in this paragraph. Remember to define the stages using cited material then review each. Next, identify which stage is evident in the case and explain. Use examples from the case study to support your assertions. Sources are required.
Behavioral Roles (6%)
Define and address question three in this paragraph. Define Schein’s three behavioral profile roles during team entry and cite. Explain and use examples from the case study to support your assertions. Sources are required.
Effective Communication (9%)
Address question four in this paragraph. This is not an opinion-based question, so back up your ideas with academic thought and citations. What is effective communication? What is active listening? Define and cite.
Types of Conflict (5%)
Address question five in this paragraph. Define and cite the two main types of conflict per the OB textbook.  Explain the type(s) of conflict seen in the case using examples to demonstrate this. Sources are required.
Conflict Management (5%)
            Question six should be addressed here. You are to make a recommendation of two conflict management approaches from the course readings that would help Denson manage the conflict present in the case study. Define and cite course concepts. Sources are required.
Task, Maintenance and Dysfunctional Activities (10%)
            Question seven should be addressed here. Use the course materials to identify one task leadership activity and one maintenance activity that should be encouraged in the case. You will also identify a significant disruptive behavior that should be discouraged. Use cited material for support, as well as examples from the case. Sources are required.
Motivation Issues and Theories (15%)
Finally, question eight should be addressed here. Make sure you use a theory from each area noted in the rubric. You will be identifying motivational problems per the question and using specific motivational theories (content theories, process theories, and reinforcement strategies) to provide suggestions to motivate each person listed based on their motivational needs. Don’t forget to define/cite each theory as you apply it. Sources are required.
The conclusion is the last paragraph. It should not introduce any new information; it should simply be a summary of your introduction, with a restatement of your thesis. You must have at least two academic references. At least one should be one of your textbooks, if not both. Know what is considered academic and what is not. See below for how to format references.
