Directions: Often, the hardest part of writing a body paragraph is the explanation, so I thought it would be good to give it one more practice.
As a reminder, the explanation is the last part of the body paragraph, and it is where you connect the Information (in your case a quote from an article) to your Point. In the explanation, you explain to the reader how the Information (quote) you provided proves your Point (the opinion of that paragraph).
Many writers struggle with the Explanation because it asks us to analyze the information we have given. To make sure we write good explanations, please review the lectures below.

English Question

English 100 Objectives
Compose a focused essay that consistently and fully develops a clear thesis.
Use sufficient information from outside sources to develop their essays.
Integrate information and ideas from sources effectively in their own writing.
Conform to the conventions of the MLA documentation system.
Final Essay Question: Write 4 paragraphs, one for each OBJECTIVE above. Fully explain how you have met that objective (giving examples helps). For
example, for paragraph 1 (objective 1): did you learn how to “compose a
focused essay”? What do you know about essays now that you didn’t know
before? How do you know if your essay has “focus?” Do your essays “fully
develop a clear thesis”? How do you know you are developing your
thesis? How do you know your thesis is clear?
This is an
opportunity for you to show me what you have learned this semester, and
to show me you have indeed learned what the class intended to teach.
There is not a specific right answer I am looking for. Instead, I am
looking for you to reflect on your growth and summarize what learning
you have accomplished this semester.

To earn points on this exam, it is not enough to write “I have learned how
to compose a focused essay” and then move on to question 2. Write a
fully developed paragraph with lots of examples–show me what you’ve learned

English Question

Everyone answer question #1 and then choose two additional
questions. Each answer should be about 2-3 pages long double spaced. Use specific details, quotes, data, events, languages and
terms. Don’t be general in your answers. Your mastery and use of
details and facts.
Your points must be well developed, organized, and supported by
enough particulars to make your position unassailable.
Write essay in one file, either PDF or MS Word. Use references and
cite them appropriately, ie Chicago. Make sure your answer is logical
in its organization, including a strong thesis statement for each essay.
I will be evaluating your answers based on your ability to

• process and synthesize the semester’s material, • use of evidence to support your position,
• logic of your position, and
• how well you articulate your position—this means proofread,
organize, and thesis
1. Create an essay that incorporates your conclusions from the
Realities of Poverty Project and the things we have talked about in
class. Use the detailed notes you took over the semester and
include what you think the value of the project was. Relate your
conclusions to the current food movements, food sovereignty,
poverty, and food justice.
2. Argue for or against this statement: Global hunger is rooted in
poverty rather than the often-claimed global over-population or
global shortages of food.
3. How does the world economy shape agriculture, make sure and
consider the role of subsidies, tariffs, corporations, large vs small
farmers and developed vs developing countries?
4. How does the current global farming crisis affect national and
global security?

Write a problem solution proposal letter and a revision reflection

This homework will consist of a two-part writing project. First I will have to write a problem solution letter (minimum 1 page) about a Rogerian argument essay I did before. I will attach the essay here. Then I have to write a revision and reflection explaining and justifying the choices i made in the revision process of changing my Rogerian argument essay into a proposal letter. (minimum 2 pages). I will also attach here the full description of this homework.

English Question

Assignment Description
Upload two documents: a cover letter and a resume. Each one is worth 10 points. Details on how to create these are in Chapter 14 of your textbook (( Management and the Arts (5th edition), Byrnes, William J. Focal Press. 2015. ISBN: 978-0-415-66329-8 )) ,and they are also covered in a class lecture.
First, a big tip: if you want to make an amazing resume and cover letter, use the UCF Career Services Department to help you out for free! Check this website for information about resumes: https://career.ucf.edu/students-old/resumes/Links to an external site.. You can also see everything they offer you here: https://career.ucf.edu/Links to an external site. , or contact them here: https://career.ucf.edu/contact/Links to an external site.. I highly recommend you take the time to utilize that service – it is to your benefit!
Assignment requirements
Your documents must be in PDF format.
Your cover letter must definitely be no longer than one page.
Unless your achievements and experience are substantial, your resume should also be no longer than one page. If your resume is longer than one page, the material on it must be essential. Do not fill your resume with superfluous information.
These documents can be created for any job you hope to interview for in the future OR you can make them generic(Dear XXXX, I am applying for your position as XXXX). Even if you make it generic, though, you must still write a legitimate cover letter, describing your experience, abilities, skills, and fit for the (theoretical) job.
If you have already written a cover letter and resume for an actual job application you have used in real life, you may submit them. Similarly, if you have already created them for another class, you may submit them. You do not have to create new material, I just want to be sure you HAVE THEM.
Note to performers: do not submit an acting/theatrical resume here. This is a management class, so your resume and experience should reflect that setting, not performance. Submitting a theatrical resume for a traditional job application will likely see you immediately removed from consideration.

The Assignment: For this essay, you will be writing an essay that is analytical in nature and based on the text and critical readings of The Turn of the Screw. You may choose to focus on any aspect or interpretation of the story you like! You may NOT just write a summary of the story. You must choose a analytical topic as your focus to on, such as how the story is representative of the era, how it fits the “mold” of a traditional Gothic tale, how it portrays the supernatural elements, how it portrays madness or insanity, why James chose the title, how the governess judges the other characters based on their attractiveness and the double-standards she employs, why the governess tries to make herself the “hero” of the story, how the lines of the social classes are “blurred” throughout the story and why, the representation of good versus evil in the story and how it changes, how James uses foreshadowing in the tale, the strangeness of the employer’s demand that he not be contacted and how it affects the governess’ actions, how the roles of Miles and Flora change (or don’t) throughout the story and why, just to name a few. The possibilities with this story are endless! You may use a few quotes from the story to reinforce some of the points you are trying to make, but you most definitely can NOT write whole paragraphs of just plot summary. There should be NO plot summary in this essay! Minimum Requirements for the Essay: • It must have a minimum of 5 full pages of text, but no more than 8 full pages of text. • It must have a twelve-point font (times new roman or calibri only), one-inch margins, and be double-spaced. • It must include four sources from the HFC Library Database that are reliable sources introduced into the paper. • It must support topic sentences with evidence and it must explain the significance of the evidence used. • It must include an additional “Works Cited” page using the 2016 version of MLA format. All electronic sources or web documents cited or consulted for the paper must be accompanied by access dates. NOTE: The Works Cited page does NOT count as one of your required essay pages. This is IN ADDITION to your 5-8 pages of full text. • Use MLA format for the paper setup and to cite sources if any are referred to in the paper

Write a poem that follows the structure, form, style, and other elements of a poem of your choice.

Background
In this block, we’ve focused our discussion on different aspects of poetry: as an act of resistance,as a platform to make a statement, as a form of expression, and part of identity and humanexperience. By looking at different poets, from Emily Dickenson, to Ginsberg, to Juan FelipeHerrera, and to most contemporary poets like Amanda Gorman and Sy Stokes. All these poetshave something in common –their way of negotiating with words and exploring style andstructure in poetry…AssignmentPart 1 (150 points) Write a poem that follows the structure, form, style, and other elements of a poem of your choice.Use that poem of your choice as a mentor text to write your own poem. It could be another poemby Ginsberg, Dickenson, or any of the poets we discussed in class. Or you can use a poem froman author we didn’t discuss in class. For example, if you chose “Sonnet 18,” you would write asonnet in a similar poetic form (number of stanzas, rhyme, meter, etc.). Of course, your poemdoes not have to have the same themes or be about love, for instance. But it does need to followthe structure of the poem you’re using as a guide. Write a poem that follows the structure, form, style, and other elements of one of the poems wediscussed in class. Use that poem as a mentor text to write your own poem. For example, if youchose “Americano” by Emanuel Xavier, you could use some of the lines from his poem (i.e., “Ilook at myself in the mirror/ trying to figure out what makes me…”) Or you could use repetitionas a literary device to emphasize a specific point or idea in your poem. You can also use that formto make a statement, a definition of what makes you who you are. Write a poem that shows your style. It could be related to the previous poems; it could besomething you would like to try, or you could create something new that shows more about youas a writer, a person, an individual. Use stanzas, white space, repetition, and punctuationintentionally to make a statement. Remember that each line, phrase, word, and even white spaceis intentional and specific. So, pay attention to the choices you make and keep in mind that thispoem reflects who you as a writer. Feel free to use visual aids such as a video, an image, orsomething that goes with that poem. You can also use Stokes’s poem, “Dear White Counselor,”as a mentor text if that is something you’d prefer. Be creative, have fun, explore your writing withpoetry!Helpful TipThe goal of this project is for you to explore different styles and structures of poetry, using other poems asmentor texts. There is no wrong or right way of writing your poems. The idea is that you use someelements from a mentor poem as a starting point.Poems Page Requirements: 3 poems total, from different styles and poetic forms Double-spaced, Times New Roman, size 12 Title (no underlined, bolded, or highlighted) Spell-checked and proofread Clear and intentional punctuation
Part 2 (50 points)Write a reflection page in which you answer the following questions:▪ Intention —What motivated you to write about these poems? What are the poems about? Whatdo they reflect? What are the intentions behind each poem?▪ Ideas — What are the literary devices you employed in each poem? How does each literarydevice help you enhance the intentions that the poems convey? How effective do you think thosedevices are?▪ Structure — What is the structure and poetic form of each poem? What helped you make thechoices you made about line breaks, stanza forms, repetition, rhyme, punctuation (or lackthereof)? How would you define that structure and poetic form for each poem?▪ Exploration — Looking back at each of these poems, the choices you made, the process ofcreating these poems, how do you think this project help you explore language and writing inpoetry? In other words, what did you learn from this project? How do you think this project helpyou explore language and writing in poetry and literature?Reflection Page Requirement: Your Name, My Name, Class, and date of submission, in that order. Double spaced, Times New Roman, size 12, one-inch margin Spell-checked, proofread, and edited
Note: This reflection page goes before the poems.

proposal for the solution to a significant (Enrollment Problems is what I wanna use )

The basic goal of this project is for you to point out and describe a “problem” that exists on this campus, and to propose a solution to that problem. This could be a problem because something exists that we need to do away with or fix, or that there is a lack of something and we need to add it. You must persuade the receivers (the administrators in Whipple) that the problem is significant (affects more than just you). Then, you must provide a solution to the problem. It must be a “real world” type of solution. This assignment is the culmination of the semester and worth 20% of your final grade. Consult notes, readings, and Blackboard material from the beginning of the semester. This is NOT simply a big paper. You are “designing” a document.
A Properly designed and formatted, typed, proposal for the solution to a significant (affects an average person, not just you) problem that exists at SUNY Morrisville. This should be created, in color, using the document design principles discussed in class.
There should be ample visual aids to ensure reader understanding.
There should be a Title Page, Table of Contents, Visual Aid Table of Contents, and any appropriate abstracts/summaries, appendices and indexes, etc.
Be sure to include all relevant, decision making information, including (but not limited to) materials and material costs, labor costs, time tables etc.
This project will account for 200 points.
There will be a 5 minute, oral presentation for this proposal. Your “audience” are the executives/decision makers of the Whipple Building. Visual aids should be part of this presentation. There will be a short questioning period following it

English Question

Introduce a current topic that is significant in the world.
Provide context on your topic and clearly explain a reasonable, commonly accepted claim that has been made regarding this modern issue. Use key terms such as claim, warrant, and support/evidence from the Toulmin argument format in your explanation. Be sure to provide relevant contextual evidence in support of the claim.
Label the Toulmin Argument parts
Briefly provide relevant contextual support
After you have clearly established the validity of your initial claim, convince your audience that it is incorrect. Utilize any means of persuasion that will radically change the perspective of your audience.
Address the problems of the opposing side and explain how your new perspective helps to fix them.
Use persuasive technique and additional contextual support to prove your opposing perspective.
A common strategy of a Rogerian Argument is to make the opposition feel as though they would benefit by adopting your new counter-claim rather than flat out rejecting their point of view. In order to convince your opposition you often have to persuade them in a way that does not necessarily invalidate their ideas. You catch more flies with honey. The ultimate goal of this essay is to successfully change the mind of a reader who fully supports the initial claim you are refuting.

Essay must be MLA formatted including in-text citations and a works cited page
Use at least 2 sources from 2020 or later
2 Pages, typed double-spaced

Edit my final project

I have a finial project and I need to fix it as this comment said this comments are from my profssepr
There are two main things that need addressing: evidence and organization.
EVIDENCE: Unfortunately, there are many problems here, many of which I’m surprised to see this late in the semester. For instance, there is one paragraph that plagiarizes content without using quotation marks, and there is another citation that refers the reader to a source that doesn’t actually contain the info cited there. These are very serious issues that could easily result in a grade of zero for the entire essay. Beyond that, the list of References doesn’t correlate exactly to the sources referenced by name in the essay; for instance, your list of References mentions a peer-reviewed article by A. M. Munroe (2021), but that article isn’t actually referenced in the essay. At another point your essay mentions “the author” without naming who the author is. And in many places, you do exactly what my most recent video warned against: you add a citation to the end of a paragraph without making it clear which sentences are paraphrases from the source and which are your own ideas. It feels like you haven’t been watching or understanding my videos all semester long.
ORGANIZATION: I often had trouble seeing how your ideas fit together in order. For instance, some parts are addressed to musicians writing music, but then other parts will jump out of that to discuss a very different issue, before jumping back to advice that repeats what was said before. Sometimes that repetition feels idea-based, where the same sorts of things are repeated, but once, you repeat an entire paragraph verbatim that you already wrote earlier. My general feeling was, “I feel lost; where am I in this essay? How does this connect to the other ideas around it?”

discussion post

To say that people have different interests and agendas is to state the obvious. The last section we have read of The Good Nurse has explained how Charles Cullen was identified as the perpetrator, how additional homicides were identified, and how Cullen was convinced to confess. All of this is set against a medical and criminal investigative backdrop. If you read the acknowledgments, you will see that Graeber was helped by many law enforcement and medical personnel in the interest of accuracy of the process.

This week please respond to ONE of the following questions, being sure to let me know what number you’re responding to.

1. Despite knowing of Cullen’s homicides, Amy Loughren felt guilt at contributing to his capture. Cullen was supported by and exploited women throughout his career. What personality traits do you think allowed Cullen to exploit women or made women vulnerable to Cullen?

2. How would you compare Capote’s treatment of the Clutter murders with Graeber’s treatment of the Cullen murders? What do you see as the primary differences between literary journalism as exemplified by Graeber and True Crime fiction as exemplified by Capote? Try to include the horizontal/vertical balance discussed in the Capote resources.

3. How would you compare Capote’s style in In Cold Blood with Graber’s in The Good Nurse?
