Due to a change of plans, it was believed that Booth lost a lot of followers at the time, Abraham Lincoln, accompanied by his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, and a young officer Major Henry Rathbone and his fiancé Clara Harris, took a seat at Ford’s Theater at around 8:30 pm that night. They were there to watch a comedy play titled “Our American Cousins.” The scene was set for the assassination of Abe Lincoln. Abraham’s bodyguard left, which gave Booth plenty of time to assassinate President Lincoln. Booth came behind Lincoln and shot him from behind a little below his ear. Booth may or may not have yelled out, “Sic Semper Tyrannis” He broke his leg while jumping to the stage. Abraham Lincoln was carried across the street and placed on the bed at the Peterson’s house, The same bed the Booth had once slept on. Lincoln passed away at 7:15 the next morning. John Wilkes Booth was found at Garrett’s farm on April 26th. Booth did not come out, so he was shot dead.
